Personal Philosophy
I firmly believe that you are inherently resilient and entirely capable of growth, even during life’s most overwhelming seasons. My goal as a therapist is to offer a collaborative space filled with support, guidance, and real-world tools to help you find relief, build confidence, and cultivate genuine hope for what’s ahead. Whether you are navigating a difficult life transition, trying to break free from unhelpful thought patterns, or working to improve communication and set healthy boundaries, I am here to walk alongside you. My own life journey—including the rewarding, everyday work of a 17-year marriage and raising three children—deeply informs my empathy for the real challenges people face. I strive to build a safe, warm, and entirely nonjudgmental environment where you feel secure exploring your thoughts, emotions, and relationships.
Clinical Focus:
As a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern, I approach healing through a systemic lens. This means I don’t look at you in a vacuum; I consider how you are influenced by the relationships, family history, and environments around you. My clinical focus includes:
- Systemic Therapy: Honoring the bigger picture of your life and relationships, whether we are working together as a couple, a family, or one-on-one.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Helping couples and individuals identify the repetitive, painful “cycles” they get stuck in, slowing things down to uncover the deeper emotional needs beneath the surface and build secure connection.
- Parts Work (IFS-Informed): Exploring your internal thoughts and emotional blocks as adaptive, protective mechanisms that developed to help you survive, rather than viewing them as flaws or pathologies.
- Generational Patterns (Bowen Systems): Looking at how multi-generational family dynamics, emotional habits, and your sense of self-differentiation impact how you show up in your life today.
- Compassionate Trauma Care: Supporting you through the heavy lifting of trauma recovery with a balance of deep clinical empathy and gentle, empowering accountability.
When Not with Clients
When I am away from the therapy room, my world revolves around my family and the outdoors. I have been married for 17 years, and together my husband and I raise our three children. We love taking full advantage of Utah’s incredible landscape—you can usually find us skiing, mountain biking, hiking, or fly fishing together. To recharge, I love diving into a good book, making cookies, or catching up and sharing a laugh with close friends.
